Forza Horizon 6: An All-Round Touge Tune

One touge tune for most races: the upgrade order and every setting value, by drivetrain.

GamingPublished 5 min read

A touge (mountain pass) tune is the all-rounder of Forza Horizon 6: one setup that runs most races. Change nothing but the ride height and it takes on rally and off-road routes too. Tuning for a specific race or car will always find something faster, but when in doubt, start here. This article covers the parts I fit and the values I actually use.

The numbers are forza.tools calculations, checked on the road

  • Source: the setting values are calculated with forza.tools, and I drive with them.
  • Checked on: 2026-09-26 (Forza Horizon 6 was released on 2026-05-19).
  • Upgrade order: the order I actually fit parts in. The engine upgrade order follows Forza Horizon 6 tuning and settings (Princess Mamo's blog, Japanese). That post has its own setting values too; this article uses the calculated values above instead.

The calculation used these inputs:

  • Tuning goal: Touge
  • Tyres: Drift
  • Correction: understeer
  • Aero: none (at calculation time)
  • Car: 304 PS / 339 Nm / 1361 kg / 57% front weight
  • Spring range: front 54–143, rear 36–107 kgf/mm

Why a touge tune works almost everywhere

A touge is narrow road, tight corners and elevation changes, all in one stretch. A car set up to turn, put power down and stop there will run most road races as it is.

When the surface changes, change only the ride height:

  • Tarmac: minimum, front and rear
  • Rally (dirt): middle of the range, front and rear
  • Off-road: maximum, front and rear

Leave everything else alone. Rather than building a new tune for every race, drive this one first and refine only what bothers you — it gets you there faster.

Upgrade order

Fit the parts before touching the settings. Settle the chassis and drivetrain first, and leave the engine for last to use up whatever PI (performance index) is left.

Step Part Choice
1 Brakes, anti-roll bars The best available
2 Springs and dampers Drift
3 Weight reduction As good as the PI allows
4 Clutch The best available
5 Transmission Race
6 Driveline The best available
7 Differential Drift
8 Drivetrain Swap to AWD
9 Tyres, tyre width Drift tyres; widest front, narrowest rear
10 Engine swap, engine upgrades Use up the remaining PI

Tyre width: widest front, narrowest rear

The one thing I care about most when fitting parts is tyre width: the front as wide as it goes, the rear as narrow as it goes. That is what turns into corners best. Tyres grip the road harder in Forza Horizon 6 than in the previous game, which makes the tyre choice matter all the more.

Drivetrain

I swap to AWD. If you keep the car RWD or FWD, skip this step and use the RWD / FWD values in the settings below.

Engine swap and engine upgrades

  • Swap: if the car allows one, pick a light engine with plenty of torque. That combination tends to be fast. Try a few and compare.
  • Upgrades: go up to the PI limit, in this order:
    1. Turbo
    2. Flywheel
    3. Exhaust
    4. Displacement
    5. Valves
    6. Everything else

Settings

The sections follow the order of the in-game tuning screen. Where a value depends on the suspension type (Drift / Race), both are listed.

Tyres

Setting AWD RWD FWD
Pressure, front 1.7 bar 1.7 bar 1.7 bar
Pressure, rear 1.7 bar 1.6 bar 1.6 bar

On Slick tyres, use 2.3 bar front and rear.

Gearing

No values here. Set it in game by watching the balance between acceleration and top speed.

Alignment

Setting AWD RWD FWD
Camber, front -1.8° -2.0° -1.6°
Camber, rear -0.7° -0.5° -0.9°
Toe, front -0.1° -0.1° -0.1°
Toe, rear 0.1° 0.1° 0.1°
Caster 6.0° 6.0° 6.0°

Anti-roll bars

Drift suspension uses the same values for every drivetrain.

Setting Drift (all) Race AWD Race RWD Race FWD
Front 10.00 22.10 19.70 5.20
Rear 50.00 28.10 24.50 32.20

Springs

Setting Drift (all) Race AWD Race RWD Race FWD
Front 71 kgf/mm 136 kgf/mm 136 kgf/mm 115 kgf/mm
Rear 71 kgf/mm 88 kgf/mm 88 kgf/mm 104 kgf/mm

Ride height

On tarmac, minimum front and rear for every drivetrain and suspension. Middle of the range for rally, maximum for off-road (see "Why a touge tune works almost everywhere" above).

Damping

Setting Drift (all) Race AWD Race RWD Race FWD
Rebound, front 4.0 8.8 8.8 8.8
Rebound, rear 4.0 8.2 8.2 8.5
Bump, front 4.0 5.3 5.3 5.3
Bump, rear 4.0 4.9 4.9 5.1

Aero

Maximum cornering, front and rear.

Brakes

Setting AWD RWD FWD
Balance (front) 54% 52% 58%
Pressure 100% 100% 100%

Differential

Setting AWD RWD FWD
Front, accel 20% — 17%
Front, decel 7% — 5%
Rear, accel 75% 58% —
Rear, decel 17% 15% —
Center (rear balance) 75% — —

Things to watch

  • Don't copy the Race suspension values onto another car. The springs, anti-roll bars and damping are set by where they sit within that car's spring range. A car with a different range needs different values, so recalculate them for your car on forza.tools.
  • These are starting values. Refine them for your car and your race and you will go faster still.
